The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families.

Founded in 1979, NAMI is a national organization and has become the nation’s voice on mental illness. NAMI includes affiliates in every state and more than 1,100 local communities across the country who join together to meet the NAMI mission through support, advocacy, education, and research.

Founded in 1985, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Greater Orlando (NAMIGO) is an organization dedicated to the eradication of the stigma associated with mental illnesses and to the improvement of the quality of life for all whose lives are affected by these diseases.

NAMI recognizes that the key concepts of recovery, resiliency, and support are essential to improving the wellness and quality of life of all persons affected by mental illness.  Mental illnesses should not be an obstacle to a full and meaningful life for persons who live with them.  NAMI advocates at all levels to ensure that, in a timely fashion, all persons affected by mental illness receive the services that they need and deserve.

NAMI Greater Orlando is affiliated with NAMI Florida, Inc., an organization that includes more than 30 local affiliates and 2,000 members across the state of Florida. NAMIGO serves the following areas: Orange and Seminole counties.

NAMI Greater Orlando works to achieve equitable services and treatment for central Floridians living with mental illness, and their families.  The organization does this by providing educational classes and local support groups, combating stigma and discrimination by creating public awareness in our community, supporting increased funding for research, and advocating for adequate health insurance, housing, rehabilitation, and jobs for people with mental illnesses and their families.

We offer regular support groups for:
