The NEW NAMI Dubuque Office is Open!
NAMI Dubuque office is located in the Schmid Innovation Center at 900 Jackson Street, Suite LL5-2B, Dubuque, Iowa. Our office hours are 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday-Friday. Our phone number is 563-557-NAMI (563-557-6264). Stop in to see us or give us a call. We will be glad to give you information about our NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) meetings and programs.
EDUCATIONAL AND CARE/SHARE MEETINGS**NOTE** All meetings will now be held in the lower level Millwork Collective area in the Schmid Innovation Center (old CARADCO Building) at 900 Jackson, Dubuque. All meetings are free and open to the public.
FAMILY TO FAMILY EDUCATION COURSE
The next Family-to-Family Education Course begins Monday, February 16th , 2015 at 6:30 PM in the NAMI Office 900 Jackson Street, Suite LL5-2B, Dubuque, Iowa . It is a free series of classes with a class meeting weekly for twelve weeks. Each session last for approximately 2 hours. The course is structured to help friends and/or family members understand and support individuals with mental illness while maintaining their own well-being. Please contact Mark at 563-590-9357 or the NAMI Office at 563-557-6462 for more information. Pre-registration is required and the class is limited to 20 persons.
PEER TO PEER EDUCATION COURSE
The next Peer-to-Peer Education Course begins Monday, February 16th, 2015 at 6:30 PM in the NAMI Office 900 Jackson Street, Suite LL5-2B, Dubuque, Iowa . It is a free series of 10 classes that meets weekly for adults living with mental illness. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours. The course provides an educational setting focused on recovery that offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope. Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 7-8 PM
Julie Heiderscheit, Chief Operating Officer of Hillcrest Family Services, will present on Hillcrests’s Mobile Crisis Team as a new resource for those living with mental illness in the Dubuque Community. She will share how this service is best utilized and how to access the team to assist in a crisis.
Tuesday March 17th, 2015 7-8 PM
Julie Schulte, founder of CAPABLE Volunteer Co will share the mission of this organization in connecting persons 20-65 years with physical/mental challenges to volunteer opportunities in the Dubuque community. Julie and a volunteer, Jake Robertson, will share how this non-profit has made both a local and global impact.
