Basic Medical Benefits Package for Veterans

Veterans Medical Care Benefits provide outpatient medical services, hospital care, medicines and supplies to eligible veterans.   To receive health care, veterans generally must be enrolled in the VA health system.

Veterans Alcohol and Drug Dependence Rehabilitation Program

The Veterans Alcohol and Drug Dependence Rehabilitation Program provide medical, social, vocational, and rehabilitation therapies to eligible alcohol and drug dependent veterans. The programs offer various forms of treatment including detoxification, rehabilitation, and psychiatric care. Treatment programs are located in VA medical centers and clinics.

Readjustment Counseling (Vet Centers)

Readjustment counseling is a wide range of services provided to combat veterans in the effort to make a satisfying transition from military to civilian life.   Services include: Individual counseling, Group Counseling, Marital and Family counseling, Medical Referrals, Assistance in applying for VA benefits etc.

Pharmacy Service

Pharmacy Service provides prescription drugs and medical
supplies from VA pharmacies to eligible veterans.   To qualify for the prescription benefit provided by VA Pharmacy Service, you must be enrolled in and receiving health care from the VA, health care system or be eligible based on of the exception in the law.

Dental Care

Outpatient dental treatment available to eligible veterans may include the full spectrum of diagnostic, surgical, restorative and preventative procedures.   In many cases, however, the law permits only limited kinds of care.

Nursing Home Care

Nursing home care can be provided in VA or private nursing homes for veterans who are in need of care, but are not acutely ill and not in need of hospital care.  Priority is given to veterans with service-connected disabilities.  If space and resources are available, other veterans may be considered.

Home Based Primary Care

VA Home Based Primary Care is a unique home care program that provides comprehensive, interdisciplinary, primary care in the homes of veterans with complex medical, social, and behavioral conditions for whom routine clinic-based care is not effective.

Health Insurance for Dependents (CHAMPVA)

CHAMPVA is a comprehensive health care program in which the VA shares the cost of covered health care services and supplies with eligible beneficiaries.  The program is administered by Health Administration Centerand our offices are located in Denver, Colorado.

Foreign Medical Program

The Foreign Medical Program (FMP) is a Department of Veterans (VA) health care benefits program for U.S.veterans with VA rated service-connected conditions that are residing or traveling abroad.
