Lois Brokenbourgh's Personal Fundraising Page

Welcome to my personal web page for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of all those affected by mental illness. (This includes people affected by major or bipolar depression, schizophrenia, major anxiety disorders, etc.) NAMI's Advocacy is more important now more than ever, as we see services for those with mental illness dwindling. I have created this fundraising page because NAMI, and the work they do, is very important to me. They have an active local support group that meets regularly for people affected directly by such illnesses and for the people who are related to, or care about them.

I not only have taught about Mental Health Nursing for 17+ years, but have had a keen personal interest in learning about it for 24 yrs. now.

I felt really good years ago, when I walked regularly. It was good for my body & mind. I've been meaning to get back to it, so here's a reminder to me...I better get ready! Any of you who would like to join me that day to run or walk, are certainly welcome.

Donating to NAMI through this page is easy, fast and secure. (You will be able to print out confirmation of your donation.) Who has extra money for donations right now? (The amount is up to you; any amount is appreciated. If this message just prompts you to read some of the tabs across the top about mental illness and treatments, then that's great!)

Both NAMI and I appreciate your reading this message and possibly walking, running, "cheering that day" and/or donating.

Thank you for your support. Hope to see you there, Lois Brokenbourgh
