NAMI GLBT Listening Session Proceedings Report

Recovery for All
December 2007

The Multicultural Action Center will release a proceedings report—the results of our 2007 GLBT Listening Session—outlining practical ideas on ways that NAMI might support the mental health needs of the GLBT community.

The report is formatted to discuss the larger-scope recommendations first, followed by those which are shorter term and NAMI-specific. An example of the longer term goals is sensitivity and education/ awareness within NAMI. Shorter-term goals include a recovery-focused GLBT mental health fact sheet, web edits, and conference planning.

A draft will first undergo internal review and approval. We hope to have this report available by the NAMI 2008 Convention.

Please watch for future announcements about this proceedings report. Visit for more information on mental health issues within the GBLT community. Contact with any questions or to express interest in joining the NAMI GLBT Leaders Group.
