NAMI Peer-to-Peer Update

June 2009

NAMI Peer-to-Peer is undergoing curriculum revisions as a result of responding to several years of valuable feedback from participants in the course.  Sarah O’Brien, the Peer-to-Peer program director, is working on program changes and expects a new edition of the course to be complete by late this fall.

As a result, the next Peer-to-Peer Training of Trainers won’t occur until spring 2010.

In other news, we are excited to announce that NAMI Southern Arizona (NAMISA) is holding the first ever Persona a Persona mentor training in order to expand the program throughout the state.  NAMISA was one of four pilot sites to hold Spanish classes.  Other sites included San Diego and Santa Clara, CA. New York City will begin its pilot class this summer.
