Build it Together Update
BIT Strategies and Lessons Learned Report released

MAC has been working with a number of NAMI state organizations on Build It Together, a yearlong capacity building initiative focused on helping these states become more diverse and inclusive.

Ventanillas de Bienestar Webinar Series

The National Latino Behavioral Health Association (NLBHA) and Urban Strategies LLC, on behalf of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, have launched a training and technical assistance program, “Ventanillas de Bienestar” (Windows of Well-Being), to provide support and training to community-based organizations and behavioral health clinics from across the country on effective outreach and enrollment strategies of uninsured and newly eligible Latinos.


Some people have a hard time talking about mental illness. For many African Americans, that topic can come with negative connotations. So much so, their problems can be overlooked or ignored. It's a mistake mental health experts say can have terrible consequences. 
The shooting death of a young woman near the U.S. Capitol last week is raising questions about black women's access to mental health care. Host Michel Martin discusses the issue with Dr. Annelle Primm, the American Psychiatric Association's Director of Minority and National Affairs.
