NAMI National Board of Directors

Keris MyrickKeris Jän Myrick, M.B.A., M.S., Ph.D.c, President

Keris Jän Myrick is the president on the NAMI Board of Directors and the president and CEO at the Project Return Peer Support Network in Los Angeles County, Calif. Ms. Myrick was previously a consultant at the California Institute of Mental Health.

Ms. Myrick found NAMI during a hospitalization. NAMI made her feel at home. She soon became very involved with the organization at every level, particularly in the NAMI Star Center and NAMI education programs. She hopes to ensure that NAMI spreads the message that recovery is real and possible for everyone and to stress that recovery requires a focus on the whole person.

She is a member of the American Society of Training and Development, the National Coalition for Mental Health Recovery, American Association for People with Disabilities, Deaf West Theatre Group, Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness, National Coalition Building Institute, SIOP (Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology- APA division 13) and Society of Consulting Psychology – APA Division 14. She was the recipient of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health: Bridge Builder Award in 2009 and was the SAMHSA/CMHS scholarship recipient World Federation for Mental Health Conference in Athens, Greece. 

Ms. Myrick has been featured in the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times. Ms. Myrick has published work in Professional Psychology: Research and Practice.

She earned her B.B.A. at Temple University, her M.B.A. at Case Western Reserve University and her M.S. at the California School of Psychology, where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate. She is a member of NAMI San Gabriel Valley.
