In Loving Memory of Cameron Collins

Thank you so much for visiting the Flowers for Cameron donation page.

Our family has created this donation page in honor of our son and brother, Cameron Collins. As some of you may know, Cameron had schizophrenia. We don't at all begrudge the fact that he had to leave us, as sad and terrible as it was. We don't know if better mental health facilities, programs, and laws would have helped him specifically. However, we do know from long and painful personal experience that the options for trying to help him were incredibly, horrifyingly limited.

This is a very personal issue for us, but one which we now understand, through this process, affects so many individuals and families; there are no words for the frustration we all feel when trying to get help for a loved one with a mental illness.

Because of this, we have requested that during this trying time, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made here, to NAMI. We don't know if a better mental health care system would have saved our son/brother, but it might help someone else.

Thank you for your support. We appreciate everything you've said and done for us during this trying time.

We love you.

As with Cameron's immediate family, members of his extended family also so hoped more research had been done and that there were more resources available to help him with this horrible and as yet non-cureable disease.
